2014 San Pedro 1865 Cabernet Sauvignon
#nb-01-18

Some of the best wine values in today's market are wines from Chile.  This is especially true when speaking of red wines.  The 2014 San Pedro 1865 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley , Chile is a great example of a classic Cab for a modest price.

The color is a beautiful deep purple red, and the nose is fragrant, with a heady dose of cherry and a whiff of currant.  The flavor features black cherry and currant with a kiss of blackberry.  The finish is round and polished with a mild presence of oak and a lingering bit of ripened fruit.  The alcohol content is 14.5%, and Norm's score is 88.

We enjoyed this tasty Cab from Chile with a thick New York Strip, baked potato, and tomato and avocado salad.  This is a quality Cab with a value price, and is a good dinner companion for most grilled meats.

price: $15 - $19
score -  88
