2018 Chateau Ste. Michelle Columbia Valley Rose
#04-19

I just sampled a very nice bottle of Rose just in time for Valentine's Day!  The 2018 Columbia Valley Rose is 98% Syrah, and not only a good wine for Cupid, but also quite a good food wine.
We enjoyed ours with a thick pork loin chop grilled to perfection, sided by a fresh avocado and tomato salad, topped with blue cheese crumbles.  As a matter of fact, if you added a slice of red velvet cake for dessert, I could highly recommend this for a special Valentine's dinner.

The Ste. Michelle opens with a fruity nose, and finishes with a dry and elegant style which begs for another sip.  The flavors suggest strawberry, red raspberry, and a slight citrus breeze.  The color is pretty and the wine is easy to drink, without being too fruity or too dry.  The alcohol content is 12.5% and Norm's score is 88.

Great with a grilled chop, I bet you would enjoy this one with broiled salmon, or almost any chicken dish, especially chicken piccata.

score: 88
price: $11 - $15
