2017 Firesteed Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Oregon produces some of the better Pinot Noir from the United States, but most are well over twenty dollars per bottle.  It is refreshing to come across a good Oregon Pinot Noir for less than twenty dollars.

The 2017 Firesteed Pinot Noir is a beautiful ruby red in color, and has a fresh berry scent, which invites one for a closer look, and of course, a first sip.  The flavor is a combination of cherry and red raspberry with a hint of strawberry in the background.  The wine is rich and fresh with subtle hints of spice and tannin leading to a clean, palate pleasing finish.  The alcohol content is 13.7%, and Norm's score is 89.

We enjoyed the Firesteed Pinot Noir with a thick, medium rare New York strip and an artichoke cooked in garlic and lemon.  A great feast for a hot summertime night.

score: 89
