#41-19

On a recent trip to a large wine store in Atlanta we were assisted by a very nice lady named Hillary, who I asked to recommend to me, one of her favorite red wines at not more than twenty dollars.  I told her that if I thought it was good, then I would write about it in an upcoming wine article, and give her credit for the suggestion. So, here it is, the 2016 Marietta Cellars Roman Zinfandel, which is a Blend.  In addition, to the majority Zinfandel, there is also a little Petite Sirah and and a touch of Barbera.  Hillary's choice was a good one!  Thank you, Hillary!

This Zin is dark, rich, complex, jammy, juicy, and mighty tasty!  The flavor is dominated by the taste of blackberry, with a little black cherry and raspberry to round out the jammy fruit presence.  The finish is spicy with a rich texture, which begs for another sip!  The alcohol content is 14.5%, and Norm's score is 91.

We enjoyed this Zin with an original recipe for Beef Stroganoff, which I created a number of years ago.  The Stroganoff was very good, and the wine was excellent!

score: 91
price: $18 - $23
