2016 Nobilo Icon Sauvignon Blanc

It wasn't Coq Au Vin, since we used white wine instead of red, but our chicken had lots of garlic, butter, and wine, and made a delicious dinner to go with the Nobilo Icon Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.

This Sauvignon Blanc has a heady aroma which is floral as well as fruity, with a fresh scent of melon being the most prevalent.  The flavors swirl throughout the glass with melon, a little peach, and a lemon-grapefruit citrus presence.  The finish is crisp and refreshing with a little minerality at the end.  The alcohol content is 13%, and Norm's score is 90.

This is a really nice summertime wine and would pair well with seafood, or salads, as well as our chicken in wine dish.

score: 90
price: $18 - $22
