2015 Chateau St. Jean California Chardonnay

Chateau St. Jean has been making excellent wine since the 1970's, and their Chardonnay from Sonoma County has always been a standard bearer.  The 2015 vintage is rich and creamy, with big fruit, buttery notes, and a full mouthful of classic Chardonnay flavor.

The wine has a bright and luscious nose, which leads to the rich flavors of pear and apple, with the pear being the most dominate.  There is also a mix of spice, and everything nice to add to the wine's complexity.  The finish has tones of vanilla oak which sail off into a crisp finish.  The alcohol content is 13.4%, and Norm's score is 90.

If you don't like this Chardonnay, then you don't really like Chardonnay.  Just like Goldie Lock's porridge, this one is "just right".  We enjoyed the St. Jean Chardonnay with grilled salmon, and it was wonderful!

score: 90
price: $10- $13
