2015 Ferrai-Carano Fume Blanc
#nb-10-18

The Chardonnay Queen and I whipped up a seafood delight last night which featured bay scallops and shrimp in a "to die for" sauce which was like a combination of Creole and Mexican, since it showcased garlic, cilantro, and hot pepper sauce, with onion, tomato, and horseradish which when combined, were terrific.  We served this over Jasmine rice next to a bottle of Ferrai-Carano Fume Blanc, with fresh asparagus on the side.  What a taste sensation!

This 2015 Fume Blanc has an enveloping bouquet of citrus and ripe tropical fruit, which opens into flavors of stone-fruit and pear, with an underlying current of lemon zest.  This big fruit wine is in perfect harmony with its sturdy acidic backbone, which leads to a very crisp finish, and a strong desire for another sip!  Norm's score is 90.

We enjoyed the Ferrai-Carano with our "Mexican-Creole Shrimp", Jasmine rice, and fresh asparagus.  This wine would pair well with almost any seafood dish, and would make a great companion for Chicken Piccata,

score: 90
price: $15 - $19
