2017 Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon
#15-19

A Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon with a Bordeaux influence, imparted by it's partial ownership by Chateau Lafite Rothschild, and its heritage of Bordeaux grape vines, brought to Chile in the mid nineteenth century, have combined to produce a high quality Cab at a modest price.  This one is a winner, and stands up extremely well to Cabs costing twice as much!

The color is dark ruby red with an intense nose, which announces its arrival with full fanfare.  The flavors are classic, with a strong presence of black cherry, backed by cassis and a bit of spicy wild berry and mocha.  The finish is long, with hints of mellow oak and a little tannin, which sail off into the night.  This one definitely begs for another sip!  The alcohol content is 14%, and Norm's score is 90.

A great Cab for steak, we sipped ours with friends, a little cheese, and a lot of enthusiastic conversation!

score: 90
price: $10 - $15
